5 Ways to be Confident in Your Skin All Day!

Clear skin is something everyone wants, and although everyone is different, there are some things you can do to help get rid of those pesky blemishes! Here are some tips I use to keep my skin looking bright and clear every day.

H20 Is the Way to Go– Drink water. Lots of it. Pimples are essentially what are produced when skin cells try to fight toxins. Water is so important to healthy, clean skin because it flushes out all the toxins in your body so that your skin cells have nothing to fight and no zits to conjure up. In addition tokeeping your skin clear, water moisturizes the skin inside and out and maintains suppleness as well as elasticity. Adding a bit of lemon juice when you drink water can speed up your metabolism too!

Makeup Checkup– Foundation may be considered a must to those people who have bad acne and want to hide it to make themselves more confident. However, foundation and other beauty products used on the face can have certain chemicals in them that can clog up your pores and you guessed it, cause pimples. So to clear up your skin, lay off the foundation and powder for a little bit and go natural. If you’re not confident enough to go out and do this however, clean your face and wipe off the products from your face as soon as you get home. Another option you have is to pretend that you’re hibernating for a week while you give your skin a break.

Wash Wash Wash– The one most obvious thing you need to do every day to keep your skin looking beautiful is to wash your face with a cleanser that is meant to control acne. I personally use the three step Proactive wash and it works great for me. However, I only use it once at night because using a wash as strong as Proactive twice a day can make your skin very sensitive in the sun which can be very painful. Proactive isn’t cheap however so cheaper products like Neutrogena also work well. Usually with Neutrogena, you won’t have a problem with sensitivity so go ahead and use it once in the day and once at night.

Oil Cleanup– I have combination skin and sometimes when I wake up in the morning, my t-zone can be very oily. Since I don’t want to dry out or make my skin too sensitive, I get a clean washcloth and run it under some warm water and gently wipe away at the oily spots and thoroughly dry.

Use Clean Everything– Sometimes what can make your skin breakout are using dirty towels or washcloths that you use when or after you take a shower. I recommend keeping a separate towel for showering and a separate towel for drying your face and hands during your cleansing routine in the morning and/or night. Try not to get mascara or any other makeup on your face-towel as that can clog your pores and make your skin break out! Wash or use another towel after about a week or two at the most.
