Taming the Beast

11 Jul

Everyone wants what they can’t have. And for me my hair is the perfect example. In other words, it’s a curly mess. And not the pretty curly that gracefully dawns the hair of Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood, the kind that looks like it’s going to eat someone in the morning. Luckily, I’m not the only one which is why god gave us people to make certain products to calm down the beast. Here are a few of my favorites:

Straightener- The most widely used tactic. Benefits? Your hair is no longer a poof. It’s instead lengthened and flattened, but usually not to the point where your ears play peekaboo behind your hair. Unfortunately if you use a flat iron too much, your hair could turn frayed and burned which is why I recommend the Chi straightener! The coating helps protect your hair while straightening it instead of damaging it.

Diffusers- Attatched to a blow dryer, this technique works quite well. It defines the curls more and makes your hair sleeker (less frizz) and shinier. Although it may take some practice and technique, you won’t be disappointed with the results!

Leave-in conditioner- Parting your hair and running this product through it almost eliminates the frizz and the
poof leaving your curls looking shiny and gorgeous! My preference is John Freida but any will do.

Night ponytail- This is a technique I use on my lazy nights. All you have to do is right when you get out of the shower, put your hair in a high ponytail. It works best when you don’t brush right before so trybrushing it before the shower so it’s not all knotty. When you wake up after a nice long sleep, take it out and wahla! No frizz or poof at the top and defined curls all around.
